The big move!

People ask us all the time why we decided to move across the country. Truth is, we couldn’t deny the many doors that opened and despite my pushing against it things just kept working out. “Oh there’s no school there…” We found a school. “The territory isn’t big enough…” Here’s the biggest territory you’ve ever had. We took a big trip out to East Tennessee in the fall and at the end of that trip was when Jared got a call that the manager here would make him a legit territory (Jared does sales and works for NFIB). We ended our trip at our besties house in Texas. The idea and possibility was fresh in our minds and while at church with them the pastor said “sometimes you have to do crazy things for God, sometimes he tells you to take the job and move across the country.” I leaned forward to look down the aisle and we all stared at each other in disbelief. Was this a strange coincidence or divine intervention? You probably can guess what I think it was!

I have always loved the south. The food, the quaint towns and the sweet tea. I’ve always loved the front porches and the seemingly slower pace. In fact I’ve even said “I’m southern in my heart” for as long as I can remember. But actually MOVING there was an entirely different thing than just saying I would.

We left an amazing community, family, best friends and our beautiful newly built barn house. It seemed absurd and made no sense to most people. But when God gives you direction, I guess sometimes you do crazy things. It was hard. It still is hard. The FOMO is real. Next week is two of my favorite people’s combined birthday party and I can’t go. It sucks and I have to not feel sorry for myself because we chose this. One day I sat in my closet and cried wondering what on earth I’m doing here. I’m not entirely sure still, but I know He has a plan.

And I actually thank God for technology. I am Marco Polo’s biggest fan. To be able to see people’s faces and chat everyday is life giving.

On that note, I’ll leave the rest for a new post. Excited to take you on our new adventure!
